Legalization is the process of authenticating or certifying a document for a document to be used internationally so it will be recognized in a foreign country’s legal system.
UAE haven’t entered the Apostille Convention so it doesn’t recognize documents under the apostille, suchwise all the documents issued outside UAE will be recognized only after the translation and certification in the country of documents’ origin and after the certification in UAE.
The Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement for Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents, the Apostille convention, or the Apostille treaty stipulated type of legalization called apostille – it is a stamp on which standard validating information is supplied. It is available (dependent on the document) from a notary public or court.
Apostille is recognized by countries which had signed the above mentioned Convention, namely: Albania, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium,Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Colombia, Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominica, Commonwealth of, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Honduras, Hong Kong*, Hungary, India, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Republic of (South), Latvia, Lesotho, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao*, Macedonia, FYR of Malawi, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Niue, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Suriname, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA, Venezuel.
For countries that haven’t acceded the Apostille Convention certification of the documents should be done through the consular certification.
